Emanuel runs the firm, meets clients for accounts strategy & finalisation and heads the firm’s Specialist Taxation department dealing with tax compliance, tax investigations and negotiations with HM Revenue & Customs.
He has wide ranging accounts and taxation experience over the last 30 years having been a tax partner in two Top 20 accountancy firms as well as working in 2 smaller firms.
Emanuel started his accountancy career at BDO Stoy Hayward after graduating from the London School of Economics with a degree in Economics Accounting & Finance.
After 8 years of experience at BDO Stoy Hayward and Nyman Libson Paul, in 1995 he joined Crowe Clark Whitehill as a tax manager where he was responsible for the overall tax compliance and specialist planning for the business and charitable interests of a number of extremely wealthy families and entrepreneurs.
Crowe Clark Whitehill promoted him to private client tax partner in 2002 and Emanuel looked after the tax planning, charitable trusts and companies, hotels, farms, restaurants and property developments for members of a well known family whose overall wealth and interests positioned them in the Top 10 of the SundayTimes Rich List.
After 11 successful years at Crowe Clark Whitehill, Emanuel joined H W Fisher as a tax partner in June 2006 where he looked after the accounts and taxation for a portfolio of companies & businesses as well as preparing Inheritance Tax planning reports. He also negotiated favourable settlements for his clients on HMRC tax investigations into corporate and personal tax issues. .
In October 2011, he set up Meyer Consultancy providing specialist tax planning services to small & medium firms of accountants and directly to individuals and businesses.
He acquired Sugarwhites, a well-known firm of Chartered Accountants serving the Stamford Hill & Golders Green communities, in February 2015 and has introduced new up to date specialist services and accounting software to provide extra value to the growing client base. He recruited four new members of staff to deal with the increased client work load and rebranded the firm as Sugarwhite Meyer Accountants Ltd in July 2016 before moving to new modern offices in February 2018
Emanuel is co-author of ‘Easy Giving’ – a well-received book on charitable giving within the local community as well as Treasurer of a large local Youth Group running 7 summer camps in addition to weekly activities. He also spearheads a charitable fund raising campaign for local schools and regularly lectures on charitable giving and the importance of supporting educational activities .
